Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2026
Welcome to MTP Checks AI at patientsfindeachother.com (“the site”). The site was founded and is run by MTP (Medical Third Party). By registering, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not register or use the site.
Before you register, please also read “Why MTP Can Never Feel at Peace”.
1. What this site is
1.The site is a public forum. Users ask questions and an AI model answers them. The site may use Google’s Gemini or AI models from other providers. MTP, acting as an independent third party, reviews these questions and answers and may join the discussion.
2.MTP graduated from a medical university but is not a licensed physician. The site does not offer diagnosis, treatment or any other medical service, and using it does not create a doctor–patient relationship between you and MTP or anyone else.
3.Everything on the site — AI answers, MTP’s comments and other users’ posts — is for information and discussion only and is no substitute for a doctor’s advice. Please consult a licensed doctor before making any medical decision.
4.Emergencies: if you or someone else is unwell or in danger, seek medical help straight away or call your local emergency number. Do not use this site to ask for help.
2. AI answers
1.Answers are generated automatically by an AI model and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong.
2.When MTP reviews a question and its answer, MTP is only deciding whether to publish them. This is not a guarantee that the answer is correct.
3. Who can use the site
1.You must be 18 or older to register and post.
2.You register by signing in with a Google account.
3.For administrative reasons, registration is currently not available in some countries and regions.
4.The site accepts content in English only.
4. What you post
1.Once MTP approves your post, it is published, together with the AI’s answer, and anyone can see it.
2.Your profile card — your Display Name and anything you choose to add — is public. Your Google email address and Google account name are never shown publicly. Only enter information about yourself on your profile card — never another person’s name or other personal details.
3.Please do not post:
- anything that could identify you, such as your real name, address, phone number or medical record number;
- other people’s health information or private details;
- abusive, discriminatory, harassing or unlawful content;
- advertising, program code, or anything intended to disrupt the site.
4.You are responsible for what you post. By posting, you allow the site to display your content publicly free of charge. You keep ownership of it.
5.MTP may at any time decline to approve, hide or delete any post, and may at any time suspend or delete any account that breaks these terms. MTP does not have to give a reason.
6.Posts that are not approved are deleted automatically after a while.
5. What information we collect and how we use it
1.What we collect:
- the email address and account name provided by your Google account;
- your chosen Display Name and anything you add to your profile card;
- your questions, replies and private messages with MTP;
- an encrypted “fingerprint” of your internet (IP) address when you register (the address itself is not stored), and the country or region you are in.
2.How we use it: to recognise your account, show your posts, review content and prevent misuse. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising, and we use no tracking or advertising analytics tools.
3.Who can access it:
- Netlify, the site’s hosting provider, on whose servers the data is stored (possibly in the United States);
- the AI provider the site is using at the time (currently Google), which receives your questions in order to generate answers. The site uses paid services, and under those providers’ terms this content is not used to train or improve their products or services;
- MTP, who can see your email address and all posts in order to run the site.
4.Your rights: you can view and edit your profile card at any time, and delete your account from it. You can also email us to ask to see, correct or delete your personal information.
5.If you delete your account: public conversations you started are hidden; your replies in other people’s conversations remain but no longer show who you are; everything else that is not yet public is deleted.
6. Account security
1.You sign in with your Google account. Please keep it secure.
2.If the site gives you a backup way to sign in (such as a Root Name), keep it safe and do not share it. Anyone who has it can sign in as you.
7. Limitation of liability
1.The site is provided free of charge and “as is”. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
2.To the fullest extent the law allows, MTP is not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site’s content.
3.Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
8. Changes to these terms
MTP may change these terms. Significant changes will be announced on the site. If you continue to use the site after a change, you accept the new terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
